New York for Treatment…….

New York for Treatment…….

I have not blogged in a while and so I thought I would update those that only follow Addi’s story here.  I apologize for not updating.  Life has been hectic and I forget to post here.  Addi has been doing very well.  She is sassy, sweet, strong willed and loving.  It is hard to believe that just a few months ago she was on deaths door and today I can hardly keep up with her.  Addi’s doctors have referred her to a Neuroblastoma specialist in New York City at Sloan Memorial Kettering for treatment.  It has taken us two months to get insurance and everything in order but we are now ready to go and will be leaving next week for the consult and several days of testing.

We got some unsettling news when the doctor in New York called me Tuesday to discuss everything and the plan. His words are still ringing in my ears, “I know you’ve been told that her scans were clear but I definitely see something and I want her in New York ASAP”.  First the news came as a shock, then fear set in but as I prayed God gave me peace.  I know God’s promises and we will just trust Him and have faith that He will see Addi through it all. Whatever happens God’s in control and we are just going to keep fighting like we have from day one!

We got a call from her doctor two weeks ago that the scan was clear but when we got to the office a few days later for a follow up, they told us they saw something that was enhancing on the scan but did not seem too concerned…..but the doctor in New York is concerned.  We really don’t understand how one doctor can say she is clear and another one says she isn’t but it doesn’t matter as long as Addi gets the treatment she needs.  We love her team of doctors and they have done a remarkable job saving Addi’s life.  They referred us to New York because they knew she needed a different type of treatment other than what they could offer due to her damaged liver so they knew she would be in the best hands for Neuroblastoma cancer.

I want to tell everyone THANK YOU for all of the information about work from home jobs and for the travel/airline information. I gratefully say Cindy from SPIRIT Airlines reached out to me and they are flying us round trip at no charge. Thank you SPIRIT Airlines. I can’t even begin to tell you what a blessing this is!!!

When I feel overwhelmed and not knowing what to do, you guys have always come through for us by praying and loving Addi and our family. There are no words that can express our gratitude for each person that follows this page and prays for Addi. We will be heading to New York next week for her consultation and several days of testing. It’s going to be a long, hard week for our princess so please whisper an extra prayer for her.

Much love ~ LaLa
