New Treatment Plan……

I received a call from Addi’s doctor yesterday regarding her new treatment plan.  They have decided the best route right now would be to do at least two rounds of Chemotherapy along with Immunotherapy.  She will have scans after chemo/immunotherapy and if needed she will begin MIBG Radiation.  They are setting up an appointment with a doctor in two week that does MIBG Radiation and we will discuss radiation therapy if that is needed.  

Immunotherapy is something she has never had so I have been doing my research.  Immunotherapy is treatment that uses certain parts of a person’s immune system to fight diseases such as cancer. This can be done in a couple of ways: Stimulating your own immune system to work harder or smarter to attack cancer cells and giving your immune system components, such as man-made immune system proteins.  Addi has some of the best doctors and we completely trust anything they recommend or say is necessary to treat Addi’s cancer.  

We have received many emails regarding alternative treatments for Addi.  We have considered, researched and prayed about each of them.  We have talked with her team of doctors regarding each of them and we are doing a few alternative things at home.  The doctors have said that the ones we are doing won’t hurt her but can help with her symptoms.  We appreciate all of the information that has been sent.  I may not reply to every email that we receive but between myself and my daughters who also help me manage Addi’s page, we read them all when we can.  With the amount of emails we receive it is sometimes hard to reply to all but we do try.  Please know that we are not ignoring the messages we receive if we do not respond.  It is just hard sometimes when we are so busy with Addi.

To say we are grateful for the outpouring of love for Addi would be an understatement.  It amazes me everyday how this tiny little human has touched the lives and hearts of so many people.  It humbles me to see the outpouring of prayers, love and support she receives.  This journey has been hard but your prayers are felt and your love is appreciated.

Please continue to pray for Addi as she starts this new treatment…..that her little body will respond and that her side affects will be minimal!
