FLUID DRAINING
FLUID DRAINING…….
Well, not really a lot to report today except that the IR doctor was blown away by the amount of fluid that Addi drained in a 24 hour period. They drained around 2600 off of her stomach which equates to about 2-1/2 liters. That is alot of fluid on a little ones abdomen! The doctor wants to monitor for 24 more hours to see how she does with the fluid shift and how her electrolytes do so we will know what to do at home then will make a decision about surgically inserting a permanent drain called The PleurX drainage system. I suspect that will happen before the end of the week. Once that is in place they will begin to discuss discharge. Not sure if that will be to home or the Ronald McDonald House.
Besides that, it was a pretty quiet day. Addi went to OT then came back and slept for hours. She has been in a good bit of pain probably from the fluid shift but hopefully that will level out soon and is just very tired from the pain and the fluid shift.
I have put together several days of videos where I captured a smile or two from my sweet girl. Please forgive my silly voices….I will do whatever I have to in order to see her smile. The last three videos are “Versed High” videos so you can tell the high look and smile right away. LOL! Several really sweet videos of our sweet girl laughing and talking. She doesn’t laugh or talk much these days so these are priceless to me.
Today is mine and WaWa’s anniversary so he came out and took me to a really nice dinner in Atlanta! So thankful for our precious daughter Alexis that drove out tonight to stay with Addi while we had a nice couple of hours away from the hospital together. Today I just have to thank the Lord for the amazing life my husband and I have built together and for giving us 5 amazing children (and their significant others) who have made us so proud and now He has given us one amazing Addi to love! Even through the hardest of times, you just have to stop and thank Him for all of the blessings and good things in your life. We might be going through the storm right now, but we are blessed beyond measure and so thankful for this wonderful, crazy life we have been given.
Thank you for all of the prayers and love! Hope you enjoy this precious video!!!
Much love ~ LaLa
