Fun day and Result day……

What a fun, fun time we had with our kids and Addi on Saturday. Warren and I are so blessed with amazing children that come together to love and support our sweet girl during this time as we love Addi back to good health. They have embraced her and loved her like nothing I’ve ever seen. It makes my heart just melt seeing each of them interact with her (yes, including our boys!) It was an Addi fun day where our sweet girl enjoyed build-a-bear, merry go round, riding the choo choo, having a great dinner and then went to the movies and watched Mary Poppins. Family time is the best time! I love that our children love Addi so much and want to spend time with her making memories.  Addi adores each and every one of them and has cute, special names that she calls each of them.  It is the cutest thing.

I apologize for not updating sooner regarding Addi’s scans. I have received a lot of messages wanting to know about the scan results. We did not get the news we wanted and we’ve been trying to wrap our heads around it all. I will try and explain.

They did an MIPG full body scan. The radiologist gives the tumors a score. In order to proceed with stem cell transplant that score should be a score of 3 or less to begin. They expected the score to be less than 3 at this point in treatment. The tumors are scoring at 4-6 and not changed since last scan so basically the chemo has not shrunk the cancer like it should. That means she will have to endure more treatment before she can go to transplant. They will begin very aggressive treatment ASAP(I thought that’s what we have been doing! ) so not to let the cancer get out of control. Not sure what that’s going to be yet. Her team of doctors are talking now and will let me know hopefully by tomorrow the treatment plan.

I’ve been taking her for testing for two weeks now. One of the tests was an audiology test. The chemo they have been giving her can also affect hearing. The audiologist says she has experienced hearing loss in both ears and is recommending to her doctors she get hearing aides right away. All of this is not what I was expecting to hear. My head has been whirling and we are just devastated with the news and just at a loss.

It has been a LONG day and this baby is done!  Please keep our sweet girl in your prayers as she continues to fight!

Still getting messages about t-shirts.
