Radiation Day 1

Radiation Day 1

Radiation Day 1…..

Post from 5/20/19

Day 1 of radiation has went fairly well. We arrived at Emory at 7 am this morning. She was happy UNTIL she saw the mask coming for her. I hold her while the anesthesiologist puts her to sleep and it’s not a fun job. You would think I would be use to it as many times as I’ve done it but I’m not. I hate the look on her face as she looks at me and cries LaLa help me until she’s asleep. They tell me she doesn’t remember that part….thankfully! I would hate for her to think LaLa would let anyone do anything to hurt her. I know it must be scary for a 2 year old that doesn’t understand what’s going on. 😞
She complained of her tummy hurting and began vomiting about 2 hours after radiation. I’ve been giving her Zofran and she’s doing better but she also doesn’t want to eat. Although she’s tired and just wants to sit and watch her iPad or sit in the floor and play with her toys, she’s doing good. All of these things are expected after radiation. We’ve been resting in our room all day. About to order some food from UberEats then sit back and watch movies until we fall asleep.
People have asked if she knows what’s going on or that she has cancer….No, she just knows when we are at the hospital what the routine is and definitely knows the things she doesn’t like. She’s too young to know what cancer is and we never tell her she’s sick.
Thank you all for the prayers and all who have text or messaged me today checking on Addi. We are so thankful for the outpouring of love for our precious Addi! Please continue to pray for her.
Much love ~ LaLa
