DEVOTIONAL: There is Hope because I am HIS!

There is Hope because I am HIS!

I woke up a few days ago very emotional. I was hundreds of miles away from home, going into the epicenter of a national health crisis where a virus is running ramped with a medically fragile child, taking her for treatment and scans to see if her cancer has returned, away from my children and family on my birthday and just feeling the emotions of it all. My faith is very strong but I just felt the weight of life and needed Gods peace and hope of better days ahead. I stood in the bathroom crying and a song came on my playlist. As I listened to the words of the song God ministered to my heart and showered me with His peace and reminded me I am HIS…..no ocean, mountain or storm will separate us from His love! God is covering us all through the storm and making a way.

“I am forever covered in Your love
So let the rain fall hard
So let the waters rise
I will stand as the oceans roar
Let the earth shake beneath me
Let the mountains fall
You are God over the storm
And I am Yours”

Are you struggling right now through this epidemic?  Are you losing hope?   God did not promise us that life would be perfect and always easy but He did promise to never leave us.  He is bigger than the storms we face and is always working for our good even when we can’t see it and in circumstances that we don’t understand.  The hope of God and the expectation of what God is going to do will get you through each day because YOU are HIS and no matter what happens, God is going to be right there by your side and is giving us all hope for a better future.  Whatever circumstances we face, there is hope through Jesus Christ.  Waiting through the storm can be filled with eager anticipation but that is where the Hope that comes from God can and will give us the peace that we need to make it through the most difficult of times.  As we wait, we must trust that God is watching over us and will provide for our needs.

Right now many are hoping for their job to be protected, good health and for the world to go back to what it once was a few weeks ago.  We have learned that in just a matter of days our lives can be turned upside down and the hopes of many have been clouded.  But for those who believe in God, our hope is drawn from something much deeper.  As a Christian we do not rely on the government, our jobs, other people or the circumstances in which we find ourselves but but we look to God for hope, who has shown us that He is our shield and our source of help in times of trouble and that even when all around us is falling apart we have hope in Him for a better tomorrow.

Our hope and trust must be firmly grounded in God who never changes, that never fails and that is always there even in the times when we are struggling in life.  He is God on the mountain and He is God in the Valley.  Look up while you are in the valley and the God of Hope will give you peace.  Hold on to Gods word that He will sustain you through all of life’s ups and downs.  Remember friends…..God sees our struggles, He loves us and He will sustain us through this difficult time.  As we endure this season of uncertainty and even suffering, God wants us to wait patiently, depend on Him, trust Him and………Do not give up HOPE!

I wanted to share this song with someone that may be going through the storm and who may be experiencing fear or uncertainty! Listen and let God minister to your heart as He did mine.  God will see you through the storm and give you hope for a better tomorrow. Regardless of the outcome, remember….I AM YOURS! Song by Lauren Daigle, “I am Yours”
Prayer of Hope
Dear Heavenly Father, I come to you today in this time of trouble and I ask you to renew my strength and remind me daily that my hope must come from you because I am yours.  Remind me everyday that know matter what happens that your love never fails and that I must never give up hope for a better tomorrow.  I thank you for giving me hope in times of trouble.  Help me to overcome the fear and uncertainty as I look to you for my hope and my help.  You know the plans, you have a purpose and you know the outcome of my circumstances…..teach me to trust you more as I have hope that you are woking it all out for my good.
