DEVOTIONAL: Just Breath

DEVOTIONAL: Just Breath

JUST BREATHE
It’s been a week, I’m just going to tell you. Some things have happened this week that have brought me to an emotional breaking point; I’ve felt like a failure, I’ve felt overwhelmed and I’ve just not understood how life, with its ups and downs can be so exhausting and unpredictable. Then you have this virus on top of everything else….oh my goodness it’s turning people into crazy humans. With some things I’ve dealt with this week, I’ve done a lot of praying, crying and seeking Gods face. In one fleeting moment, God simply whispered to me….Just Breathe, It’s going to be ok….I am working even when you cannot see it, trust Me! That’s it….JUST BREATHE! Right now I feel that’s all I can do at times and that is all God expects of us when we can’t do anything else. All we can do is breathe and trust Him when life is throwing so much at us we feel we are drowning. God doesn’t expect us to be super human, He doesn’t expect us to understand everything life throws at us, He doesn’t expect us to have it all figured out……He just expects us to breathe and trust Him regardless of what this crazy life has for us and have faith in His plan, His purpose and that He is going to get us through any trial we are facing.
Everything going on right now along with family issues, finances, home responsibilities, etc can all be overwhelming. All we can do at this point is just relax in Him and let Him soothe our souls. He knows all of our ups and downs, He knows about the highs and lows, He rejoices in our joy and he comforts our sorrows. All we have to do is calm our heart, rest our mind and reach out to the One who gave us breath in the first place. That’s it!
Are you exhausted with life right now? Yes, me too but God renewed my spirit once again. He’s such a good God and just wants us to turn our hearts, minds and life to Him completely even when we can’t breathe, when we don’t understand, when we are hurt, when we are overwhelmed, when we are tired! When the walls are falling down all around me and the storm is raging and trying to take me under all I can do is lift my head to God and pray and trust that tomorrow will come, these trials will pass and that regardless of the outcome He is with me.  When you feel overwhelmed and need to feel Gods presence, you sometimes just have to stop everything you are doing, pray, ask the Holy Spirit to feel you with peace, wait on Him and JUST BREATHE!
Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father I come to you today because I’m overwhelmed with life. I’m hurting, I don’t understand and I feel like I’m drowning in all that life is throwing at me. I ask you right now to help me to trust you more, help me to have faith that you are working all things out according to your purpose and help me to just breathe when there’s nothing else I can do. I thank you for never leaving me, never forsaking me and for giving me strength when I am weak, love when I feel forsaken and courage when I feel afraid.  God continue to show me your ways each and everyday.  In Jesus mighty name….Amen!
Bible verses:
Proverbs 18:10
“The name of the LORD is a strong tower; The righteous run to it and are safe.”
Ephesians 6:10-13
“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.”
Psalms 28:7-8
“The LORD is my strength and my shield; My heart trusted in Him, and I am helped; Therefore my heart greatly rejoices, And with my song I will praise Him. The LORD is their strength, And He is the saving refuge of His anointed.”
Proverbs 18:10
“The name of the LORD is a strong tower; The righteous run to it and are safe.”
